The story behind the dedication
‘For Kirsten Forrest’
Alexandra Palace is an amazing Victorian building and park which I’m lucky to live right next to, and it’s been the setting of many of my books. I knew that the Palace had been used as an internment camp during the First World War, but when I came to plan out my book, I needed lots of in-depth detail about what exactly had happened. That’s when I turned to Kirsten, who works at Ally Pally, curating everything you could wish to know about its chequered history over the 150-ish years it’s been around.
