Meet Wanda:
Things about me…
• I don’t go to school (even though I’m 12)
• I have ADHD (my mum says I don’t)
• Me and my mum travel around the world (with backpacks)
• I’m homesick (for a home that doesn’t exist)
• I’ve just discovered a HUGE secret (and need to find out if it’s true)
Maybe it’s time for me to have an adventure of my own… why don’t you come with me?
Meet Margot:
Dear Diary,
You’ll never guess what, but something mind-melting has just happened to me and my family – or should I say SOMEONE happened!

The story behind the dedication
’To those of you with heads full of pesky, noisy hamster wheels… I see you!’
The idea for this book came about because my then 20-year-old kiddo had just been assessed and found to have ADHD. Eddy talked a lot about the chaotic chatter and noise in his head, and when I asked if it was a bit like having a brain stuffed with a bunch of rattling, squeaking hamster wheels, it made Eddy nod and burst out laughing! So that’s how I ended up describing my main character Wanda’s experience of ADHD. Of course ADHD is different for everyone, but maybe some readers will recognise that sensation too?
