Please say hello to ‘The Mystery of Me‘, the third of my books to be published this summer!
As you may have noticed, I love writing different styles of books. This summer I’ve already had ‘The Pearl in the Attic‘ published (a novel about a girl and her grandma, set in two different time periods) and the 2nd in the ‘St Grizzle’s’ series – ‘St Grizzle’s School for Girls, Geeks and Runaway Grannies‘ – about a bonkers boarding school.
So what’s different about ‘The Mystery of Me‘? Well, it’s one of the quick-read books published by small-but-passionate publishers Barrington Stoke, who believe in making books that are super-readable for everyone. By that they mean good stories written by well-known authors, which are a) short and b) printed in a way that makes the words easy on the eye for anyone with reading issues such as dyslexia. Basically, they’re perfect whether you’re a confident reader looking for a snack-sized read between chunkier books, or someone who just prefers a speedy-read. (Check out the slim-ness of ‘The Mystery of Me‘ compared to my other new books…)
I’ve written several books for Barrington Stoke now – here they are, all nuzzled together below! BTW ‘The Mystery of Me‘, ‘The Girl with the Sunshine Smile‘ and ‘Honey and Me‘ are all illustrated by the fab Cathy Brett, who’s an author in her own right too.
If you get the chance to read any of my new books over the summer, you can always write to me at karen@karenmccombie.com and tell me what you thought of them. Or if you fancy doing a review, maybe leave one on Amazon.co.uk…?
Whatever you’re reading this holiday, enjoy…
